CEO Benelux [Belgium]


 

Mission:

The CEO Benelux will assume full P&L responsibility for this region and leadership of the local team. His/her role is to ensure profitable business and strategic growth by driving product management and operations.

The candidate, as CEO BA Benelux, will be responsible for the general management of the Distribution business with 2 warehouses with industrial activity in Wondelgem and Malonne and 3 warehouses in the Nederland with industrial activity in Deventer, Rotterdam and Born. Our workforce counts 250 employees with a turnover of ca. 330M€ and 320 Kt invoiced steel shipments.

The Vision for BD Distribution and its strategy is clearly set in order to expand our reach and increase profitability in Distribution business; it will be a key responsibility of the candidate to contribute and implement such strategy in the local environment. The larger picture of BD Distribution strategy and initiatives need to be explained and communicated in a targeted way to employees, customers and partners. This requires trust, stamina as well as an unpolitical and team-oriented attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out development of a coordinated business strategy for Benelux as part of the overall BD Distribution strategic plan
  • Ensure dynamic management of the team
  • Define, coordinate and execute business development activities and projects
  • Support operational management, ensure all processes are well coordinated
  • Be key actor in definition of a local commercial strategy, contribute on purchasing/supply chain
  • Contribute, support and execute our digital transformation, both in sales and in operations
  • Ensure efficient link and communication with BD Distribution Group and all the stakeholders
  • Ensure smooth collaboration with support functions (H&S, HR, Finance, Purchasing)
  • Ensure that all standards and procedures regarding health, safety and environment are met

Standards required :

  • Significant professional leadership experience
  • Pragmatic attitude and solution-oriented, advanced problem-solving and analysis skills
  • Results-oriented with strong performance record, able to drive performance and profitability
  • Well-rounded executive with a high level of energy and the continued ambition to change and create excellence, team-worker
  • Good oral and written communication skills (Dutch and English are mandatory, French is a plus)
  • High level of organization and detail-orientation
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
  • Knowledge of steel distribution market, understanding of the steel market landscape and customer preferences is a plus.
