• Training beyond high school is required
• Customer service skills are required
• Experience is required

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting the Staff Pharmacist in the preparation and distribution of medications throughout the hospital according to the established policies of the department and West ! Jefferson Medical Center. The Pharmacy Technician will have all work checked by a Pharmacist before distribution to patients or employees. The Pharmacy Technician will also stock supplies, prepare floor stock, do some clerical work and assist with other jobs required for operations. Basic knowledge of the therapeutic effects of medications required. Knowledge of medication forms and routes of administration required. GED/High School Diploma required. Current License Renewal Required. Certified by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy Required. (0-6) months related experience required.
