The Corporate Clinical Pharmacist will provide support to the Pharmacy Department and be a resource for the Medical Management Department and the PH Provider Network.
Responsibilities:
The Corporate Clinical Pharmacist will possess a substantial working knowledge of pharmacy profiles, drug-drug interactions, pharmacokinetics, lab values in relation to drug therapy and disease management programs. The Corporate Clinical Pharmacist will be involved in the utilization management process, quality improvement and t! he medication therapy management program.

Principal Responsibilities
Works with case managers, social workers and discharge planners in providing medication information on members as needed, i.e., basic pharmacy profiles, duplication of medication, suggesting possible alternative medications etc.
Works with Pharmacy and Therapeutics Sub-Committee (P&T Subcommittee) to ensure that the formulary is appropriately revised to adapt to both the number and types of drugs in the market place. The Corporate Clinical Pharmacist will also serve as a pharmacy resource when such drugs are evaluated.
Assists in the analysis of pharmacy claims processing issues as required, including interactions with pharmacy benefit management (PBM) provider representatives.
Aids the VPMA and Medical Directors in research of drug information to support denials or approvals of prior authorization claims.
Assists Pharmacy Benefit Coordinators in providing clinical information in regards to the drug benefit of P! HN as to determine an appropriate decision making process.
Coordinates and monitors the Medication Therapy Management Program (MTMP) required by Medicare Part D.
Provides direct member and provider interaction including but not limited to participation in Peoples Health coordinated clinic visits, health fairs, and telephonic comprehensive medication reviews with members.
Assists with the implementation of targeted PH medication initiatives.
Acts as the liaison between PH and pharmaceutical manufactures when new information is presented by pharmaceutical manufacturers and reports such information to the Pharmacy Department.
Actively participates in preceptorship duties for assigned Doctorate of Pharmacy Candidates (Pharmacy Interns).
Other projects and duties assigned by the Corporate Clinical Pharmacy Manager and Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services. Core Competencies

Experience/Education
BS Degree or Pharm D. with at least 3 years experience in a clinical setting. Completion of pharmacy residency training is preferred, with special consideration given for those completing a program with an emphasis in Drug Information.
Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Windows Filing Techniques.
Competency with real-time, on line pharmacy authorization software.
! Familiarity with a Medicare Advantage Plan environment with emphasis on Medicare Part D. Licensure/Certification
Licensed as a registered pharmacist in the state of Louisiana or demonstrate an ability to obtain licensure in the state of Louisiana. Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Must be able to travel to areas covered by PHN Medicare Advantage Plan.
Possibility of on-call responsibilities as needed.
