Qualifications:
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS;

Education! and Training: Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy or equivalent. Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state where the pharmacy is located. In good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy for where the facility is located.

Experience: Education and experience may vary according to combined background of individual. Minimum of three years experience in hospital pharmacy management is required. Unit dose, IV admixture, and computer skills preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Verbal ability is needed to understand the composition and properties of drugs, their manufacture and uses, their pharmacologic action, and the procedures for testing their purity and strength.
It is needed, also, to supervise staff, to formulate administrative plans, and to present data and information on pharmaceuticals to physicians, staff, and the public. Numerical ability is needed to measure, weigh, and package drugs. It is also nee! ded to compute charges and to prepare departmental reports and! budgets.
Form perception is needed to interpret prescription format, to note physical and chemical changes in ingredients for prescriptions, and to interpret formularies. Clerical perception is needed to prevent errors in reading formulas and proofreading prescriptions. It is vital also in reports and record keeping.
Basic computer skills are necessary.
Personnel management, financial management, ability to analyze financial reports and data, able to read and evaluate printed medical, pharmaceutical and other literature, inventory control, quality management principles, dosage requirements for the age and type of patients served.
