The Cardiology Clinical Pharmacist enhances the quality of care through the development of clinical pathways/protocols, provision of multidisciplinary education, com! pletion of medication utilization evaluations, and development of policies and procedures. The Cardiac Clinical Pharmacist serves as a preceptor to pharmacy students and PGY-1 pharmacy residents.
This pharmacist is directly responsible for providing care in a 24-bed universal Cardiac ICU/step-down unit within the OLOL Heart & Vascular Institute. Additionally, he or she will work with clinical staff pharmacists to provide care to patients residing in 64 additional beds dedicated to cardiac care.
