Description: Slidell Memorial Hospital is in need of Pharmacist right now, this career will be delegated in Louisiana. The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for the interpretation, clarification, transcription, compounding and dispensing of physician's medication orders. As an integral member of the medical team, the pharmacist provi! des drug information, drug therapy monitoring and recommendations; and participates in all of the departments clinical programs. The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for the supervision and checking of all support staff assignments. Compounding and preparation of various dosage forms.

Transcribes orders accurately into the computer. Clarifies orders for questionable doses, duplication, interactions, incompatibility, etc with the physician and communications to the patient's nurse, and writes on chart. Accurately prepares and dispense medications. Suggest alternative regimens at patient specific appropriate doses (pediatric, geriatric) Effectively performs pharmacokinetics consults for aminoglycoside, theophylline and phenytoin.

Evaluates C&S drug regimen for appropriateness. Assesses coagulation profile and anticoagulant therapy for appropriateness and prospectively identifies potential drug interactions. Respond to drug information requests. Performs effec! tive patient teaching.

Fulfills special clinical proj! ect (DUEs, etc) with timeliness. Effectively performs pharmacokinetic interventions and follow-up. Supervises and teaches techs, students and interns with the goal of increasing productivity. Trains new Pharmacists proper procedures for various assignments.

Must obtain BLS-C Certification Successful completion of Competency Exam within appraisal period. Graduate of ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy Must posses a current Louisiana license. In good standing with the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy.
